The promoter Bob Arum of 79 years was surrounded by a throng of reporters, many of which have expanded their recorders in the face or craned to read lips in a background of noise before scribbling his comments in their notebooks.

This was the scene at the root of the WBO welterweight title by unanimous decision victory (147 lb) king Manny Pacquiao (03/02/1952, 38 KOs) against former champion Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs) for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title (154 pounds) belt, a triumph that earned him his eighth title Filipino superstar in many weight classes before 41,734 fans.

He was winning 13 straight to Pacquiao, who has eight knockouts during his execution.

Despite two failed negotiations between the two camps in the past to make the fight, Arum, meanwhile, said he was hit in his third attempt to make the fight this week.

Tonight on HBO: "Diamond Elite" Boxing Show: Sergio Martinez vs. Dzinziruz

Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel CottoImage via WikipediaThe best analogy for this contest Saturday Dzinziruk vs Martinez "Kirk vs. Spock." For the editors of the Tribune boxing in no way be regarded as Trekkies.

Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KOs) is the Captain Kirk-intuitive, creative, a risk taker. Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KOs), on the other hand, is analytical, logical, cold, Mr. Spock.

Martinez takes the fight when he sees it going. Although able to box out and play safely, it is more than ready to go to war when he feels the time has come. At times he may be attracted to take risks beyond those that are absolutely necessary, but left his position and work to help her athletic difficult situations.

Dzinziruk not fight for the jr. scarce resources on more than 7 years and can be a factor, but more importantly to look for is how Martinez is allowed to dictate the pace of combat.

If this becomes nothing but a tactical boxing match, which will be credited to Martinez, but then that Martinez can beat at different speeds and rhythms, Dzinziruk knows only one way to fight. This should be the difference in this contest.

Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga

Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1, 23 KOs), the opponent Cotto only to find a crime and who has lived in his career to kill or be killed philosophy.

Many believe that Puerto Rico, Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KOs) is a fighter who is mentally shot. After his beating at the hands of Antonio Margarito, Cotto put in an uneven performance against Joshua Clottey, then a complete collapse against Manny Pacquiao, showing an inability to stay in the pocket in two fights and often resort to full retirement a way to treat and sustained offensive surge.

Miguel Vazquez vs. Leonardo Zappavigna

In a classic puncher vs. boxer contest Cotto vs Mayorga under card, IBF lightweight champion, Miguel Vazquez (27-3, 12 KOs) of Australia takes Leonard Zappavigna (25-0, 17 KOs).

Zappone has a power fist and then missing some of the finer points of combat award, so there's pedigree is pure aggression. Vazquez, although the formation of a well-known Javier Capetillo is a boxer who uses movement, angles and clever counter-punching.
